Village Gnanro

(ID: 699 | Status: Donated)
Type: Projekt
Category: Dorf
Project manager: Elke Wonsiedler
Country: Benin (Afrika)
Product(s): 50 Solar Kit 5W
The commune of Sinendé is located in the department of Borgou. It has several villages but unfortunately due to the insufficient number of kits for the year 2022 in Benin only 3 villages have been enrolled. The first deputy mayor of the commune of Sinendé having received the news that the NGO ABIOLA has brought a large number of families from the communes of Kouandé and Cobly in the department of Atacora out of obscurity with the granting of solar kits, he very quickly contacted me through one of my cousins living in the commune of Sinendé. After having exposed the problems which are theirs in this commune, he then pleaded in favor of his constituents so that they too can benefit from the generosity of ABIOLA. Not having a large margin of maneuver on behalf of the whole municipality, three villages were selected. The first village visited is that of Gnanro which, according to the General Population and Housing Census of 2013, has approximately 578 households and 5761 inhabitants, of which the female population is 2907 people and the male population is 2854 people. Of these households, which today greatly exceed 578, only 50 were selected on the basis of certain selection criteria, therefore taking into account the household poverty line. Note that the village of Gnanro is mainly made up of farmers, as is the case throughout the town. The course in the village allowed me to touch the fingers of the difficulties experienced by these populations which in reality hardly differ from those of the populations of the municipalities of Atacora who have already benefited from the generosity of ABIOLA. Unfortunately, only 50 families were enrolled in Gnanro, which I believe will have an impact on the daily lives of families and, moreover, that of the whole village and the whole town in general. They look like this: 1-YABOUNON Assouma ;2-BOURAIMA Imorou ;3-ADAM Toko ;4-YAWA Boni ;5-TOROU Démo ; 6-YOROU Zakari ;7-SIDI Sio ; 8-TABE Adamou ;9-GANDOSSOUNON Amina ;10-ABOU Djima ;11-BOURAIMA Issa Mandè ;12-BIO YORO Mariam ; 13-BAROUKA Rafiya ;14-BAROUKA Zoubéra ;15-KARIM Somè ;16-TAGA SAKA Mêmouna ;17-KINTA Sabi Gado ;18-YEIMA Kobi Saka ;19-ALIDOU Yaya ;20-GABA Gnangui ;21-BANI Djao ;22-MOUSSA Soukéna ;23-ELHADJ TOGO Guinguiré ;24-BONE Fati ;25- TAMOU Abdoulaye ;26-ABOU Chérifath ;27-KARIM Amidath ;28-AMIDOU Issifou ;29-AMIDOU Salmane ;30-YERE Azarath ;31-MOUSSA Mêmouna ;32-IBRAHIM Bassirou ;33-B ATON SOUNON Goï ;34DRAMANE Lahana ;35-DEMO Sika ;36-ADAMOU Amina ;37-KARIM Abdelaziz ;38-BIO Pitoukou ;39-SERO Salifou ;40-KARIM Toko ;41-BAROUKA Baké ;42-YAROU Dèrou Douwé ;43-MOUSSA Adama ;44-AMADOU Gouminsaou ;45-SABI YERE Raphaêl ;46-OROU GANI Kassim ;47-CHABI DANTARA Barka ;48-OROU DADO Orou Mèré ;49-MARE DOURO Issifou ;50-OROU Dado Goura

Burkina Faso, translated as the land of sincere people, is a West African country in the south of the Niger Arc and borders Mali, Niger, Benin, Togo, Ghana and the Ivory Coast. The The capital, Ouagadougou, is located in the center of the country and has around 2.5 million residents a total of around 20.5 million inhabitants (according to the 2019 census). Burkina Faso is one of the poorest countries in the world (ranking 182 out of 189 listed countries in the Human Development Index 2020) with an average gross domestic product of $671 (2019) per capita per year. The The state is characterized by multidimensional fragility and stands due to Population growth, urbanization and, in particular, the consequences of climate change significant challenges. The Burkina Kinderhaus association was founded in 2018 and has been committed to the education and support of children in Burkina Faso ever since. In October 2018, the association opened the very first kindergarten with a crèche in Dedougou. The association's first school opened in Burkina Faso in September 2021, thanks to the generous support of the ALTERNAID Foundation and Fly & Help - The Reiner Meutsch Foundation. The primary school is the first of its kind in the “Kouroukan” district near Dedougou, where the children would otherwise have to walk almost two hours to the nearest school. The primary school and kindergarten have now been transformed into a children's center through the construction of a vocational school and a secondary school. The children's center has almost 600 students and trainees who are looked after and cared for every day.

Grundschule Huva in den Mandara-Bergen in Nordkamerun

(ID: 602 | Status: Open)
Type: Projekt
Category: Schule
Project manager: Christoph Köhler
Country: Kamerun (Afrika)
Product(s): 1 Solar System 60W
Huva primary school in the Mandara Mountains in North Cameroon The Huva school was recently built. 340 primary school children from the 1st to the 6th grade can now attend school here. The homesteads in the Mandara Mountains are widely scattered. In order to visit one of the schools further down in the mountains, the children had to cover very arduous journeys. Now they are happy about the new school in their own village. One classroom is already finished, another has to be built. The parents do this in voluntary work. The adobe bricks are already formed and are kept in the classroom so that nobody taps them. The village is not connected to the electricity grid. Not even kerosene lamps with the necessary kerosene are affordable for every family. And so after 6 p.m. no more activities outside the home can take place. The school needs electric light so that the teachers can prepare for lessons in the evening or hold evening classes for the population. That is why the school absolutely needs a solar-powered power supply. ABIOLA has already given a binding commitment to an ABIOLA TurboCharger 60W, lamps for lighting several rooms and a 12V / 220V converter for small consumers (such as notebooks). However, it would be very valuable if ABIOLA received a donation for this project in order to be able to realize even more valuable projects. The project is supported by TERRE DES FEMMES e.V.

Village Dadooyiri

(ID: 693 | Status: Donated)
Type: Projekt
Category: Dorf
Project manager: Elke Wonsiedler
Country: Ghana (Afrika)
Product(s): 40 Solar Kit 5W
Dadooyiri is a village in the Jirapa Disctrict in the northwest of Ghana. Although the community is passed by a street on which a lot of through traffic can be found making the village an important passageway it has not yet been connected to the power grid. To the disadvantage of the people living there this means they have to find a lot of alternatives and adapt to the fact that working late hours is almost impossible. As already mentioned though being connected with other communities and villages with marketplaces inhabitants who want to sell their goods have to take long ways in order to find proper locations with potential customers. Referring to that the preparation of food, clothing or other material which is intended to be sold has to be shifted to the night or early morning. This is a huge challenge since the visibility is very bad unless they are able to find some source of light. With the Solarkit this problem can be approached. While having light which eases the preparational process the people also receive a device which they can carry as powerbank for their walks to the selling places. Being able to charge their phone on the way is saving precious time. Dadooyiri community which is around 40 families is most happy and thankful for this gift. ---- 1- BE-APOO Kulpog, 2- BE-APOO Tangpog, 3- BE-APOO Mary, 4- BE-APOO Mapog, 5- BOYENE Puli, 6- AYUO Puli, 7- DONGNEBE Zupog, 8- BAAGALA Wulimege, 9- AMPOO Theresat, 10- BAYUO Paschalina, 11- NANG Bavan, 12- TANG Sofao, 13- KUGBIEL Laraban, 14- GBIEL Kuukyera, 15- GBIEL Soaka, 16- DOOKA Ian, 17- NANG Hellena, 18- GBIEL Puli, 19- GBIEL MIchola, 20- NOKPARA Kuu, 21- DAARIBERI Zupoge, 22- DANGYI John Bosco, 23- NAYIRI Abass, 24- BANKYE-ERI Agnes, 25- NYOURI Seetu, 26- BABIEREKUU Dunfaari, 27- NGMAMPOR Bayor, 28- TANG Sarah, 29- LIENUBAH Pul, 30-GBIEL Georgina, 31- KONKU Dirong, 32- BILDARI Bayuo, 33- KULPOGE Vaa, 34-NAAYIRI Yelbasoolor, 35- AASELLEH Alice, 36- AYOR Boryaan, 37- BATUONAAMURUU Saawiema, 38- TAMPOG Pul, 39- NARIBO Kullah, 40- Adituo Dari

Project manager: Elke Wonsiedler
Country: Benin (Afrika)
Product(s): 3 Raspberry Pi PC
The CPAD: Private College of the Assemblies of God of Tanguièta was created in 2014 due to the resounding successes of the private primary school of the same church. This middle school primary school saw the collaboration with KINDERHILFE WESTAFRIKA with volunteers. Today it has 4 educational groups, that is to say the entire first cycle of secondary education, namely the 6th class with a staff of 47 students, the 5th: 25 students, the 4th: 23 students and the 3rd: 15 students, i.e. a total of 110 students After an interview with the founder of the college, representative of the church in the said locality, the Wifi was automatically acquired, thus marking the will of the latter to really engage this establishment in the program of the ABIOLA Academy and to see why not its learners perform feats in order to acquire yet more Raspberry Pi computers. The name of the current director of the college is Mr. BANTCHANTI BONI Arzouma Some images of the establishment with the pupils in class situation are offered to you ***** A big thank you to supervisor René Sobabe ABIOLA-TEAM.

Project manager: Elke Wonsiedler
Country: Ghana (Afrika)
Product(s): 3 Raspberry Pi PC
Rev. Quarmson Thomas Henry is the lead pastor in of Holy Ghost Assemblies of God, Ashaiman and the founder of the school. Because of his busy schedules, he has appointed Dec. Silas to head the affairs of the School. Holy Ghost AG Academy was founded in the year 2009. The school now has a total population of 113 students, with 56 females representing 49% and 57 males representing 51%. The school has fifteen (16) teaching personnel and four (4) non-teaching staff from NURSERY to JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL. Classes are held from 8 p.m. to 3 a.m. during the week. The students' interest has been sparked by the Abiola PCs. Students frequently outperform their teachers in terms of learning speed. We also hope to employ technology to recognise and improve particular student abilities. Teachers can also use computers to better their education. Adult education via computer is also possible for parents and villagers. In addition, we have installed an Internet connection so that students can access the ABIOLA online Academy. Adults can use computers to obtain information for business, shopping, and medical needs, among other things. We are aware that if our students complete their courses successfully, we will receive extra computers from ABIOLA. Rev. Daniel, our General Manager, deserves our appreciation. Also to our able supervisor Pastor Jeffery Ayembilla for the time spend on travelling to and fro. ***** ABIOLA is pleased to be able to contribute to the education of students in Ghana. Many thanks for assistance in setting up the computers to Pastor Dr. Daniel Ayembilla, Referee Andrew Jeremiah Nai-Mensah, Referee Jeffery Ayembilla, and Phillip and David and all the other helpers.

Villages Dikokoré and Fititamou

(ID: 870 | Status: Open)

Product(s): 49 Solar Kit 5W
Dikokoré and Fititamou are two small villages (one at the foothills and the other at the summit) in the hills of the Atacora range in the district of Tampègré, commune of Toucountouna Department of Atacora in the northwest of Benin . These are two small villages of around 400 people, mainly Waaba and Daataba, including around 150 children in school. These are therefore villages that I discovered thanks to the dynamism of the Executive Director of the NGO BCDA Mr. Michel NAHOUAN, who works in the fight against climate change, the preservation and promotion of the identity and culture of peoples mountain regions as well as sustainable economic growth for these peoples. There is no glimmer of hope regarding the possibility of any electrification of these two villages, hence the need for ABIOLA to support them in order to positively change the daily lives of these populations. 49 families were taken into account in the two villages: 1-BONI Baroka,2-NINOPA Tchétou,3-NINOPA Yotto, 4-SEKOU Bounan,5- YORO Dokopé, 6-KOUSSA Tchétou, 7-BONI Issa, 8-YOKOSSI Nagninga, 9-SAGUI Kooma, 10-KOUSSA Wendéyama, 11-KPABENE Yériki, 12-DOKO Kabo, 13-YOKOSSI Koti, 14-WINRIBASSE Doko, 15-YORO Sourou, 16-BONI Wouropé,17- BONGOU Nicolas,18-NTCHA Clément,19-METAMEDE Nda Inès,20-BOTTI Gnintidoma,21-MPO Christophe, 22-TCHANSI Nkoh,23-SEKOU Louis, 24-NTCHA Abidjan,25-SEKOU Bella,26- TCHABATE Colette,27-NTCHA T Audrey,28-NTCHA Marcelline,29- MOUYORE Kammou, 30-NDAH T Rosine , 31-BONGOU Koutchéi, 32-KOUYIENATI Béatrice, 33-NTCHA Ténè,34-DOKO Yotto, 35-MOUYORE Koutchéi, 36-MPO Ténè, 37-KOUYIENATI Parfait, 38-MPO Clarisse, 39-KOUAGOU Koutchéi, 40-MPO Eugénie, 41-BEDIEKOU Félix, 42-METAMEDE Juliette, 43- TCHANDO Iriko, 44-NAGNINGA Tchenti, 45-TCHATIYANKA Honorine, 46-SEKOU Mmédo, 47-TCHESSO Tingator, 48-OKASSE Hélène, 49-NTCHA Pokpetri. ***** A big thank you to supervisor René Sobabe ABIOLA-TEAM.

Dorf Biriboukaban

(ID: 657 | Status: Donated)
Type: Projekt
Category: Dorf
Project manager: Christoph Köhler
Country: Benin (Afrika)
Product(s): 11 Solar Kit 5W
Project 15: Biriboukaban launches an SOS Biriboukaban is a village located on the Kouandé –Birni axis. Said village, like most villages, faces very serious problems such as lack of electricity and lack of water. Despite the problems facing its populations, it was my surprise to see this population not being interested in the offer that would allow them to come out of obscurity and then give children the opportunity to perform well on the school plan. To hear them, these populations have been repeatedly victims of the deception of other NGOs who have gone there before with promises that unfortunately were never fulfilled. So despite my explanations and my exhortation to make them understand that ABIOLA is not an NGO like those who have already duped them, few families have accepted to register in order to benefit from the grace of ABIOLA in the field of solar. The ABIOLA family solar kits will therefore be very well received by these 11 registered families and unfortunately the reluctant will not have their eyes to cry at the end of the roll. Note that in the said village the schooling rate due to the absence of enlightened men is one of the lowest in the municipality, hence the need to do awareness-raising work in order to show them the merits of sending the children. at school. There is still a lot to do in this village. The donation of these 11 families in family solar kits will be a trigger for families who refuse to send their children to school. The families registered in Biriboukaban are the following: 1 - BANI Issifou; 2- BANI Ousmane; 3- DEMBO Amadou; 4-ALI Yacoubou; 5-BANI Aissatou; 6-GANDOSOUNON Biba; 7-OUSMANE Salamatou; 8-MOUHAMADOU Ibouraïma; 9-OROU Yacoubou; 10-ABOUBAKAR Ali; 11- BOUBAKARI Zénabou

Dorf Nabire

(ID: 820 | Status: Open)
Type: Projekt
Category: Dorf
Project manager: Elke Wonsiedler
Country: Ghana (Afrika)
Product(s): 61 Solar Kit 5W
When driving about 20 minutes north-east of Kogri/Ullo, you reach the small community of Nabire. It is far off any major cities and on the border of the Jirapa Municipality. Especially in the rainy season it is hard to reach and the red-brown muddy roads are hard to navigate. Before we could start the registration, we had to wait for the members of the community to return from their farms. Therefore, we were lead to the local chief. He lives in a compound made out of several huts connected by walls and enclosed yards. After welcoming us he introduced us to several families working. They were preparing food in great mortars and on pots over fire. Since at the time it was the end of Sheanut season, dried piles of nuts were stacked in front of every house. Tons of the boiled, peeled and now drying fruits could be seen in every direction. Soon, the people would mash, grind and knead them so they could produce the precious Shea-oil. After the majority of the workers had come from their farms, we finally started registering them for Solar-kits. It was clear that similar approaches of renewable light sources for this electricity-lacking community were made before, because several 12-meter tall light poles with holders for solar panels were scattered in the community. However, it turned out that all of them had broken down a long time ago and were not functional anymore. The people were delighted by the thought of having a reliable way of using evening hours and charging their phones again. Members of 62 families arrived. Since they came a long way, we gathered the information of everybody: 1. Methodius Kangyelevilaa 3m 1f, 2. Bapogro Azime 2m 2f, 3. Moro Gyaloo 3m 3f, 4. Ali Alazuma 4m 1f, 5. Ata Dery 2m 1f, 6. Teogo Yapala is located in the Bawku West District (Zebilla) of Ghana. It's a new settlement area comprising various types of tribes including kusasis,Bisas,Fulanis and Yaas. The main occupation of the people is farming, they cultivate crops such as cabbage, onions, tomatoes, green pepper, Millet, maize and etc. The community lacks some social amenities such as electricity, toilets, schools and clinics. The people have to always travel for about 5 kilometers to access the above listed amenities and this has attributed to high level of school drop out and maternal deaths. The people are peace loving people and co- exist peacefully with each other dispite their tribal differences. Indegenes in this community are impoverished by poverty and are also completely cut of from any social supoort of the government such as water, electricity, school, and health facilities. The main income generating activities for these locals is the sale of produce from their farms and burning of logs into charcoal. This source of livelihood is not sustainable for the indegenes but they have no option available to them. The community looks forward to receiving the solar kits that will help them in many ways; it will support the women in cooking family meals and also assist students in their daily studies. The Teogo Yapala community is currently cut off from the national grid and it will be a great news for families to get the solar kits. The registered families are as follows; 1. Azinkit Tarrifor 2. Grundschule Guzda in Nordkamerun

(ID: 601 | Status: Open)

Category: Schule
Project manager: Christoph Köhler
Country: Kamerun (Afrika)
Product(s): 1 Solar System 60W
Guzda elementary school in North Cameroon The elementary school in Guzda in the Mandara Mountains was the first in the whole area and was set up through the initiative of a teacher from the village and parents. At first the parents paid auxiliary teachers. Lessons took place under a tree. The parents themselves collected the material for the first classrooms. In the late 1970s the school was recognized by the state and teachers were paid. Solid classrooms have now been built. 1462 pupils from 1st to 6th grade are now studying there. After successful completion, they can go to high school in Guzda. However, the village is not connected to the electricity grid and there is no light in the school. During the busy rainy season, the older children have to work in the fields in the afternoons. This means that they cannot do their homework or learn anything else for school because it gets dark shortly after 6 p.m. all year round. If the lights can be turned on in the school in the evening, they can go there and revise the school schedule. The school buildings can then also be used for adult education. The illiteracy rate in rural North Cameroon is high - especially among women - and there is a great need for education. That is why the school absolutely needs a solar system!

Duori-Gyan is located in the Upper West Region of Ghana and part of the Duori community conglomerate. Since the community is rather widespread, they have no access to the power grid. One shouldn´t think that this is the only challenge the families have to face. During the dry season they have to walk long distances to fetch the needed amount of water from some of the water streams that provide most villagers with drinking water and water for food production. Like in many other areas where a lack of electricity exists, potential working hours are decreased which lowers the productivity for the livelihood of the people. Also, the younger generation is affected. As they help their parents in daily farming their only time which is not occupied is in the evening. Helping both parents and children to have light in the evening and morning, charging their phones and other devices. Thanks to the Solarkits this support is given. ABIOLA is therefore providing 44 families with their product which is very much appreciated by the community. ---- 1- SUROBRA Kojo, 2- BAYUO Peetere, 3- DOOPOGE Puli, 4- YELFAARIKUU Daril, 5-TANG Manpoo, 6- KUUFONG Alazuma, 7- BAGYLE Kullah, 8-DAKURAH Yel-Engtubon, 9- KULLAH Stephen, 10- PINPIM Agness, 11- BAABOROTERO Koopoge, 12- TANG Kuuba-Ebon, 13- SAAPOO Tampoge, 14- ZULEE Dari, 15- AZUMA Masa, 16- DERY Dekongme, 17- KUNO Puli, 18- TIGO Yaa, 19- BAYOR Soyen, 20- DANTOP Mafilda, 21- BAYOR Duo, 22- KULLAH Tene, 23- BABA-UUNOVURI Albaare, 24- TANG Talayel, 25- BAYUO Tawiah, 26- SEG-KYENUU Akua, 27- BAYOR Kana, 28- GBIEL Tang 29- KUUFON Alice, 30- BAYOR Kugbie, 31-NAANGMENBA-EREH Kugbie, 32- BAYOR Ninfaasiekuu 33- YELNENUOR Amos, 34-KOORLOORI Faustina, 35- ENMAALEH Kuubanyereeh, 36- BAYOR Zinikullah, 37- DONGIMA Songleh, 38- PUKYIREH Matthew, 39- TAMBO Nang, 40- BA-EREEH Dassah, 41- BAYUO Balanoe, 42- KOONOO Adama,, 43- NANG Foopuo, 44- GYIE Mary

Village Nièkènèbansou

(ID: 703 | Status: Donated)

Country: Benin (Afrika)
Product(s): 60 Solar Kit 5W
Nièkènèbansou, a village far from urban realities It is a village in the district of Oroukayo, commune of Kouandé which has already been impacted by the NGO ABIOLA in the sense that the primary school group A of the said village registered under the ID 649 in the luminous portal of ABIOLA, benefited from a turbocharger to the delight of schoolchildren who derive great benefit from it. It is because of this that the elders of the village would like once again to seek the assistance of this NGO in order to allow poor families, and God knows that there are many of them, to benefit from family solar kits, in order to allow not only distant learners of their schools to have something to learn their lessons and to the good women who carry out income-generating activities to carry them out well without the negative influence of the night. All the tours made in the village of Nièkènèbansou have actually enabled me to realize that women are fighting in this village in order to contribute to the well-being of their different communities and support in this direction would only boost development expected and so desired so that from now on each family can meet the basic needs of man. The size of the village and the precarious life led me to extend the number of families to 60 as indicated in the following list: 1-SOTIMA Winrikou, 2-NTCHA Ténè, 3-MPO KOUAGOU Michel, 4-TCHOROMI Kouaguiré, 5-YELIKE Nestor, 6-BONI Félicia, 7-guerra Chabi Benoît, 8-BAGRI Mora, 9-GUERRA Clément, 10-GOUNOU Kora, 11-BAGRI Baké Manou, 12-WASSAGUI A O Doko, 13-soke Songui N'douro , 14-TANMAN Sabi Karabiyé, 15-MIDARIGUI Zakari, 16-OROU DEMON Sinadogui, 17-BORIGUI Bernard, 18-BAKU Zakari, 19-DAFIA Mora, 20-SINAGBAROUGUI Sabi, 21-BAKU Yacoubou, 22-KOUBOUGUI KOURA Orou Clément, 23-BOUSSIKIROGUI Orou Sorou, 24-IDRISSOU Worou,25-BAKU Bokouré,26-BAKU Sabi, 27-BOYAGUI Gilbert,28-OROU TASSO YAYA Gracia, 29-BOUSSOU André,30-KORA Yarou,31-GOUNOU Léonard,32- BAH SABI Yararissounon, 33-KOURA NGOBI Simè, 34-TAMOU Kanta N'gobi, 35-BAPARAPE Ibrahim, 36-BAPARAPE Mamam, 37-BACHABI Pierre, 38-SIANOU Kora, 39-KANTA NGOBI Kora, 40-BOUKO Joseph, 41 - GUERRA Amouda, 42-NORA Karim, 43-TIKOUGUI Sabi, 44-GUERRA Sinagoura, 45-BOURANG UI Bernard, 46-OROU YERIMA Bio, 47- OROU Sabi, 48-TAÏROU Issa, 49-BOURANGUI Soumanou, 50-GUERE Zakari, 51-TIKA NDE Kora, 52-MATAYAYE Karim, 53-CHABI YO Nongui, 54-BOUSSIKIROGUI Siyo ,55-TAMOU Gniré,56-YAOURE Gbaoussounon,57-DAMISSA BIO Sidi,58-GANIGUI Adam, 59-TIKOUGUI Boco N'yo, 60-HAROUNA Moussa

MAASA GROUP MASSA is a group of women in the village of Koussokouantougou, the third association visited in the commune of Boukombé under the leadership of Mrs. Bibiane NTCHA. The particularity here is that the village chief did not want this event to be counted and quickly joined us and sent his thanks in advance to the NGO ABIOLA for this gesture which will be made to the place of his fighter women. Like the first two visited, the women are in association for the same objectives. The village visited is only 3 kilometers from Togo. The presence of a gentleman outside the village chief surprised me in the sense that he is a visually impaired person who came there to benefit from this solar lamp to allow his children of enjoyment of this grace. Here is the list of women plus the names of the men mentioned above 1-MPO Sabi, 2-TANORI Bernard,3-KOUAGOU Jeanne,4-KOUAGOU Christine,5-KOUAGOU Madeleine, 6-SEMA Véronique, 7-SEMA Julien,8-NTCHA Antoinette,9-NDAH Jeanne,10-KOUAGOU Hélène, 11-TAYENA Ndiliwè,12-KOUAGOU Albertine,13-MPO Colette,14-KOUAGOU Victoire,15-NTCHA Pauline,16-NTCHA Marguérite,17-TCHAMOU Ncoa Pauline,18-NTCHA Emilienne,19-NDAH Bernadette,20-NKOUEI Rodrigue, 21-NTCHA N Elisabeth,22-MPO Antoinette,23-SIMBIA Matthias, 24-TANORI Marguérite,25-KOUAGOU Téna , 26-MPO Pauline,27-YENI Esther,28-TOUOTA Ncoa,29-MPO Véronique,30- NDAH Madeleine,31-NTCHA Romaine,32-NTCHA Aline,33-NTCHA Ncoa Philomène,34-NCOA Marie, 35-BANIKOU Pélagie, 36-MPO Angèle, 37-NTCHA Jeanne,38-NATTA Téna

Goodness and Mercy

Goodness and Mercy Missions Computer School, Jinkfuin, Belo Sub Division, Boyo, NWR of Cameroon Goodness and Mercy Missions (GMM) was founded in late 2007 by Teh Francis Yai and Natalie Runyon as a non-profit organization with the goal of making a difference in the communities of Cameroon. GMM was founded because there was a great demand for the needs of the community. We discovered that rural communities in Cameroon continue to suffer, not so much because of the country's economic situation, but because of the lack of initiatives for individuals to help themselves and get out of their predicament. Since 2012, GMM has been offering computer training programs in the Belo Sub Division. In most schools around Belo and in the neighboring villages of Fundong, Laikom, Fujua, Ngwah, Abuh, Meli and Alim, students only learn the theoretical part of computer knowledge. This is a big challenge as IT has even been included in the primary school curriculum. With the introduction of ABIOLA Academy's online courses, the number of students has increased. An additional computer school will be built in Fundong and financed by Informatics for Africa (InfA). InfA also supports the school with hardware and provides school sponsorships in the region. ***** ABIOLA is pleased to be able to make a contribution to the education of students in Cameroon. Many thanks to Rosina Hug for helping organize and set up the computers.

Teogo Yapala Kongure Community

(ID: 819 | Status: Open)
Organization: ABIOLA gGmbH

Category: Dorf
Project manager: Elke Wonsiedler
Country: Ghana (Afrika)
Product(s): 50 Solar Kit 5W
Kongure community is located at Gbantongo Electoral Area under Bawku West District in Upper East Region of Ghana. It has a human population which is approximately 525 people. The ratio of Males to females population in percentage terms are 47% to 53% respectively. Kongure community lacks most social amenities that will make life meaningful to indigenes. Notable among them are Electricity, School, Health center, Potable drinking water and feeder roads. The main economic drivers at the Kongure community are farming and rearing of ruminants and local fowls (birds);mostly dominated by the men while the women are into petty trading, shea butter extraction and rice processing to earn a living. Even though christinaity is predominant in the community, there are also some of the people in this community who strongly believe in superstition and fortune telling. When the people heard about the news that Abiola was in their vicinity to register community members for the Abiola lamps, the team was greeted with celebrations and warmth welcome as many women throng from their houses to get registered since they are completely cut off from the electricity company of Ghana. The women indicated that they cannot wait to see the day they will take hold of these solar bulbs for their household chores at night and alsohelp their children to study during night hours. The Abiola team thanked the community members and assured them they will take delivery of the lamps because Abiola delivers on its promise of supporting the poor to lighten their homes. The registered families are as follows; 1.AKPELIMTERA ATAMPIINYA 2.AWINI CLETUS ASSIBILLA 3.ABIRE AYAABA 4.ABUGRE ANYAGR 5. AMORE AMOS 6.AYAAWIN STEPHEN 7. Dorf NAKI CENTRE

(ID: 674 | Status: Donated)

Country: Togo (Afrika)
Product(s): 50 Solar Kit 5W
SOLAR KITS ABIOLA DISTRIBUTION PROJECT IN NAKI CENTER Naki Est is the capital of Kpendjal Ouest prefecture, a prefecture located in the far north of the country. Naki East is a small urban agglomeration but very densely populated. It houses the administration offices of the new Kpendjal West prefecture, created in 2016. It also houses all the small shops and most of the economic activity. It is crossed right through by the inter-state road Dapaong - Naki East - Borgou - Mandouri - Benin border. The agglomeration of Naki East (center) has about 8,000 inhabitants, the majority of whom belong to the Gourmantché ethnic group. It has a Village Development Committee (C.V.D.), made up of nine (09) members, namely: • A president • A vice-president • Secretary • An assistant secretary • A treasurer • An assistant treasurer • Three advisers The mission of the CVD is to promote the development of the village by seeking solutions to the problems affecting the populations: health, education, access to water, deforestation, etc. The strategies used by the CVD are essentially based on advocacy with the traditional (canton chief), administrative (prefect) and political (deputy) authorities. The urgent needs are the construction of school buildings, the supply of drinking water and the reforestation of the locality. A- ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL CONTEXT On the social level, Naki East (center) is the center of activity of the prefecture. The administration resides there: prefecture, town hall, hospital, college and high school, gendarmerie, police, ..... The officials of these services reside there with their families, which makes Naki East (center) a semi-urban environment. Economically, agricultural activity is not very intense in Naki. Administrative and commercial activities are more important. B- COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT INFRASTRUCTURES 1. In terms of education Naki East has the largest public primary school in the prefecture. This establishment has more than 1000 students with classrooms that sometimes have more than 100 students. Naki East also has the largest general education college and the largest (secondary) high school in the prefecture. 2. In terms of health Naki East has a Prefectural Hospital Center, the largest in the prefecture. This center has been the subject of a recent expansion with the construction of new bocs. This is the prefectural referral hospital. The most frequent diseases are malaria, diarrheal diseases, respiratory infections ...... 3. In terms of access to drinking water Naki East has several boreholes that supply the population. There is not yet a drinking water supply network. 4. In terms of energy and rural electrification Naki Center has a public lighting system powered by a generator. This energy supplies the public highway and public buildings (hospital, prefecture, town hall, gendarmerie, etc.). On the other hand, the population and the homes are not equipped with this lighting and this is a major handicap for the pupils who cannot work at night. C- IMPACT OF SOLARS KITS ON VILLAGE DEVELOPMENT 1. Home lighting: Home lighting will have a dual security interest: security against theft which is favored by darkness and security against the bite of reptiles and scorpions. 2. Charging the phones: Charging the phones enables their use. Nowadays, the use of the telephone is a real factor of development. The telephone makes it possible to communicate and to have information in real time. It also makes it possible to carry out economic activities through monetary transfers. 3. Student learning: The availability of lighting at home will allow students to study at night. They will thus have better academic performance, and will be able to go far to school. All this will promote the development of the community. ***** ABIOLA thanks the President of the NGO HUMANITÉ TOGO for the organization of the project and the delivery of SolarKits, which will be in Togo in December 2021.

Aduman JHS School was founded in the year 1985 by the church of methodist at Aduman. Since then, Mr. Peter Ansah have been running the school. The school has 25 teachers teaching a total of 563 students in the departments nursery to JHS and 8 non- teaching staff. The relationship between girls and boys is roughly balanced. The school clothes are preferably a prescribed uniform issued by the government. It is very important to us that our children are brought up in the Christian faith and that they learn to deal with teachers and classmates in a disciplined manner. Classes take place during the week from 8am to 3pm. The transferred computers arouse great interest on the part of the students. Often times, students learn faster than teachers can teach them. We also try to use the computer to recognize special abilities of students and to promote them accordingly. The computers also enable teachers to further educate themselves. Adult education for parents and villagers is also possible with the computer. We have also set up an Internet that allows students to study the ABIOLA online Academy courses. Adults can also use the computers to obtain information for work, procurement, medicine, and many other areas. We are aware that we will get even more computers from ABIOLA if our students study their courses appropriately.
